One thing that I learned early on is you never turn down an offer of a boat trip! Sail and speedboat trips are not cheap ..anywhere from $89 per person sunset sail to $2,650 and up for a 6 person day sail😳
So when a friend, who happens to be a boat captain, offers a “locals” day sail/ boat trip you jump on it! This usually means a very reduced rate like $50 per person and/or you bring your own food and drink (and also for the captains and any crew) and then give a tip at the end of the sail including leaving behind any booze you might’ve brought on board but didn’t drink🍻🍷🍾🍹
Boat trips always are a great time spending time with friends, getting to know each other better , relaxing, snorkeling and swimming, eating and drinking together and enjoying life! Everyone is happy and laughing and forgetting their cares for a moment. I highly recommend taking the time, if you are able and near a body of water, to treat yourself to a boat trip!
Some trips are birthday celebrations:

Some are friends/ and visiting friends boat trips:

Friends, Charlie and Judy, have taken us out on their speedboat:

There’s Captain Rick’s Cimmaron:

And Cloud Nine:

Captain Jason, who owns Cloud Nine, has been a very generous friend taking us on numerous ‘locals’ sails saying he values friendship over money so we do our best bringing yummy food and his drink of choice, dark beer.

Then there are the other very generous friends, John and Ann, with a large luxury catamaran who invite you to bring nothing but swimsuit and snorkel gear and are treated like royalty ( see one of my past blogs about Soterion)

Most of my boat trips were trips sailing around St. John but I have been blessed to be on a couple trips that went to the British Virgin Islands. Those trips will be in my next blog!
Have a wonderful week and see you next Tuesday!🌹
