As hard as it was to leave Italy, we were looking forward to seeing my cousins, Valerie and husband, Yannick. They live in the south of France in the city , Antibes, near Nice (pronounced βNeeceβ)

The train ride would be 6+hours with four changes along the wayπ¬ and this was the fast train! But no worries, it was very scenic and about 1/2 of the route was along the Mediterranean coast. Our train changes were pretty smooth, except for the time when Molly almost missed the train, waiting for her food and made it ,no kidding, by ONE minuteπ β¦the trains leave exactly on time, you cannot be a minute late! And since it was summer, and some of the stops were along the coastline, there was one point where the train was so congested, you could barely stand or sit because of all the young, party time beachgoers.

We finally made it to Nice ,where my cousins Yannick and his wife, Valerie ,picked us up at the train station. Antibes is about 20 miles from Nice so we got a little guided tour along the way to their home.
We passed a famous hotel frequented by celebrities and the richβ¦.Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc. We could not get close to it as there was a guard at the beginning of the driveway so these pictures are off of their website.

Itβs right on the oceanfront and has a couple of restaurants, tennis courts, and even a diving board into the ocean!
Pretty schnazzy!!!
We parked and took a walk along a waterfront path.

After our scenic walk, we were ready for a nice evening meal. My cousins selected a picturesque spot on the water with a gourmet menu π

After that lovely meal, we were ready to head to their home to relax.

They live in such a sweet spot with a large back and side outdoor space with even a garden! I stole and ate some delicious cherry tomatoes the minute we walked outside π

Tomorrow, the day at the beach and more exploring of the city!
