Day 2 in Venice

After a nice restful night in our AirBnB, we ventured out once again to do some exploring.

View from our AirBnB

Since the boat taxi is one fare to reach all the stops, we decided to do a full ride to all the stops to see Venice from the water.

We got off and did some looking around of the other end of Giudecca

We then took a small gondola ride back just to say we did😂

As we walked the streets and bridges, there was a sense of happiness and wonder. Such a unique place on this planet!

We started exploring more back streets and came upon a glass blower working in his shop.

And a blown glass , painting and sculpture artists exhibit!

Glass!
The wall sculptures are all glass

After all our full day of walking/sightseeing , we decided to get dinner and drinks.

We started calling Michelle , “Michelle Spritz” since she would order one at every dinner

When we made our way back to Giudecca, we walked past an artists pop up gallery studio I had not noticed before. It was this artist’s last day for the season for her (kids getting out of school) which was my good fortune as she sold me a beautiful original silkscreen scarf she had designed at 1/2 price!!

Zoom in to see it’s also a map
The artist, Claudia Coro

Tomorrow we will be leaving Italy😢

I’ve fallen in love with this beautiful, vibrant, colorful country! Everything seems to be a work of art. From the architecture, the winding roads , the fashion, the homes decorated with pretty flower boxes and the open friendly welcoming atmosphere, all of it🥰

Arrivederci, Italy!

Hi, I’m Rose. I am a single dental hygienist with grown children who lives/works part time in the States and part time on St. John, US Virgin Islands. I also love to travel. I would have stories about things that would happen either on St John or the various places I’ve visited. Many of my stories would be about unusual things that people in the states are not used to and some where a picture painted a thousand words. So when my friends encouraged me to write a blog, I was hesitant. Would anyone read it? The advice given: those who care will read it and those who do not care, don’t worry about. Here’s my blog for those who care to know me a little better and sometimes get a good laugh or just want to see what island life is all about.
