As I’ve said before, one of the joys of being on St. John is when you get friends or family to visit!
This time it’s friends who are like family, Chip and Margaret! They were only going to be here a few days so we crammed all we could to make a memorable visit.
So…..

The Landing is a great morning to night little restaurant which serves scrumptious breakfasts, yummy lunch fare and generous dinners at a good price. Also every evening, there’s some musical local talent playing during the dinner hours, like my friend and neighbor, Erin Hart.

Next day, we start off early with a quick stop at Northshore Deli to pick up some sandwiches to take to the beach. Northshore Deli makes custom sandwiches and salads.

Or if you are in a hurry, you can pick something out of their ready-made offerings in the cooler.

The first beach we go to is Hawksnest.

It’s not Sunday, unfortunately, so Chip and Margaret aren’t able to have church service by the ocean but we will enjoy God’s masterpiece and be in awe of its beauty!

Great snorkeling, two pavilions with charcoal barbecue grills (if you plan to spend the day) and best of all…changing rooms and bathrooms. Not great bathrooms, basically a stool with a hole in the ground, but better than squatting in the woods😂😂😂
After a couple of hours at Hawksnest, we jump back into the Poet and make our way to Cinnamon Bay and Campground.

Cinnamon is one of my favorite beaches because it’s one of the longest stretches of beach you will see on island. And if there is an ocean swell, it’s where you will get the opportunity to see surfers riding the waves🤗🏄♀️🏄🏽🏄♂️

Plus there is a campground, a little grocery, a restaurant, outdoor showers and….ACTUAL flushing toilets 👍

This wall is the only remnant one of the oldest buildings on island which was destroyed during Hurricane Irma.

After our beaching, it’s time to get back to town to get a bite to eat at Greengoes.

Arrival and Day 1 are a huge success!
