More Snorkeling on St.John 🥰

Okay, so there are a lot of bays/beaches to snorkel on St. John. The previous blogs were about the more popular snorkeling spots so now we will visit some other popular and some lesser known bays each with its unique underwater beauty.

When Molly came for a visit, we visited Salt Pond. She wanted to try out my camera and since she dives she got some great shots of big turtle and then a mama with her baby.

I was able to get a unique shot of a pelican diving and scooping up fish!

And a beautiful sea shell but I couldn’t keep it because someone was living inside.

Another good snorkeling spot is by Lovango Cay. You can only get there by boat so these were taken on a boat trip. I really like the colorful coral.

Little crab peeking out
Grouper

Another nice spot you can only reach by boat is Little St. James Island. Friends ,John and Anne Hill, would treat us to catamaran rides there🤗

Scrawled File Fish
Angel Fish
Queen Angel Fish
Porcupine Pufferfish

Another spot we could only reach by boat was on the south side of Coral Bay. Mardenboro Point. Friends, Charlie and Judy, took us to that spot we had never snorkeled before.

Thornback Cowfish
Name???
Serpent Starfish
Look what Cortney found!
Vase Sponge
Brain Coral
Porkfish

Next, Fish Bay. Limited parking and mostly private beach makes this Cortney’s favorite place since dogs are not allowed on most beaches.

‘Monkey’, the dog, with his lizard catch😳
(Male) Stoplight Parrotfish
(Female) Stoplight Parrotfish
Deadly sea urchins
Blue Tang
Happy Parrotfish😁

Goodbye until next Tuesday when I take you to my very favorite spot for snorkeling…. I saved the best for last!

Hi, I’m Rose. I am a single dental hygienist with grown children who lives/works part time in the States and part time on St. John, US Virgin Islands. I also love to travel. I would have stories about things that would happen either on St John or the various places I’ve visited. Many of my stories would be about unusual things that people in the states are not used to and some where a picture painted a thousand words. So when my friends encouraged me to write a blog, I was hesitant. Would anyone read it? The advice given: those who care will read it and those who do not care, don’t worry about. Here’s my blog for those who care to know me a little better and sometimes get a good laugh or just want to see what island life is all about.
